Write Your Story

Beloved new, and ancient, friend…

From the moment I met you, I knew you were special. I’m sure everyone feels this way — you’re so warm, loving, and kind, with a great story to tell. I understood immediately that you are a writer — a real writer.

I know you’ve identified as such all your life, even though not everyone knows this about you. This is a profound and soul-aligned identity, one you’ve had since you were very young, first putting a few words together as a child, feeling the magic in the words themselves, the energy behind them, and how you could play with them to communicate something real and true. The words hummed inside your body, rolled on your tongue – and often, they received such a warm response from those who were your earliest readers – perhaps mom, or dad or a beloved grandparent.

As you grew, you took pride in your writing — receiving lots of acknowledgement from teachers, parents, and fellow students. You didn’t write for accolades. You wrote because you love to write. You understand the power of casting a spell with words. You know what it is to find that one, sometimes obscure word that captures exactly what you mean to say — and you take delight in that. You delight in the craft itself.

And now, you are more than ready to write your story.

It’s reached a point where it feels almost ridiculous — maybe even a little embarrassing — that you haven’t yet written your book. You’ve lived a remarkable life, had experiences others could only dream of, lived in amazing places, created a beautiful home and meaningful relationships, and built a deeply fulfilling life.

One of your other passions, besides writing, is serving your clients. You absolutely love what you do — whether as a somatic therapist, healer, founder, psychotherapist, or master-level coach. It doesn’t matter the modality — for you, it’s always about serving your people at an extremely high level, where you truly make a big impact. Your effects are impeccable, and you like to do things well. Some might call this perfectionism — which can be shame-based — but it hasn’t been that for you in a long time. You simply want to do things and are capable of doing them extremely well. You present something to the world that holds meaning, purpose, and perhaps most especially, beauty.

So why haven’t you written the book yet? You’ve had a full life, incredible relationships. Perhaps you’ve chosen to be a mother — or not — but either way, you find ways to give back and “mother” others. Your female friendships are of primary importance to you, and you’re the kind of woman everyone — friends and family alike — call when they need to talk, when they need encouragement, or when they need a solution to a painful problem. You’re that one.

That’s because, very likely, you are matriarchal. And I want to distinguish this from “feminist.” Likely, you are aware that matriarchy is the old, ancient way of being in community and leadership — not “top over,” and not even just sharing power, but rather holding a place of leadership, rooted in unconditional care of an old, knotty and unconditionally loving grandmothers’ circle, supporting everyone in the community, and also held in an old, joyful grandfathers’ singing circle…

It is not about gender. It is an earth based way of viewing the world and each other…In this space, no human being is excluded or unwanted. And each one has their gifts and each one has the right to belong to their village and to their land…This is an incredible legacy — a remembering of an ancient way of being that the world so desperately needs.

And because so many people depend on you, personally and professionally, it’s sometimes very difficult to carve out time for one more thing —
even when that one thing is your true heart’s desire.

Writing your book is that one thing.

You’ve tried — you have plenty of started but unfinished drafts. You get excited about an idea, thinking this will be your book, but then you get stuck, and it goes cold. You haven’t had the right kind of expert or editor in your corner — a story mentor who can help you move through not just resistance, but the confusion of where to go next in your story.

It’s completely understandable. Very few people — even many with MFAs in Creative Writing — manage to complete a book alone. Many of them join my programs, because the energy required to do it solo is simply too much for such a large creative project, especially the first time.

On a soul level, this has been bothering you for a long time. You think about it every New Year’s Eve, and every birthday, and plenty of days in between. Maybe, if you have children, you thought about it when they started elementary school — then middle school, high school, or college.

All this time, you’ve been thinking about your book,
promising yourself that as soon as you had time, you’d do it.

But you haven’t.

And perhaps — more than perhaps — you know you need help. Now is the moment, because it’s starting to create anxiety that you haven’t written it. You know that having your book written and published will break the glass ceiling — or rather, the grass ceiling — in your work.

A book will allow you to be seen by others on a global level
— like-minded and like-hearted others.

It will open doors for collaborations,
speaking engagements, and expand the reach of your work with clients.

You know, deep down, that this book is a big reason why you came to Earth — to share your story, your message, perhaps even the processes you’ve created to help others.
We can help you help others with your words

We work with people to write their memoirs and story-centred non-fiction, and for many, it feels urgent. The world is on fire, and it needs your medicine desperately. You feel this — and the longer you withhold that medicine, the more painful it becomes. It hurts, because you’re a true empath. You know you have to break through the resistance — to embody your soul’s deepest desire and longing, which at this stage of your journey is to become an author.

You also sometimes feel a quiet ache —
that sense of untold stories living inside you, waiting to be birthed.
You can almost feel them pressing against your ribs, whispering,
“When will it be my turn?”

You may scroll through social media or see someone you know publish their book and feel both happy for them and a pang of longing — that could have been me. You’re not jealous, exactly, but you feel the tug, the reminder that your own voice has been patient long enough.

You might even feel creatively blocked — full of ideas, essays, teachings, and stories that have nowhere to go. You sense that once you finally open the floodgates, not just your book, but your entire creative and professional life will shift.

There’s also a part of you that knows this book is not just for others — it’s for you. A sacred act of integration. You want to make sense of your life, to see the threads connect, to witness your own becoming on the page. You know that writing your story is the only way to fully claim it.

Sometimes, you worry that it’s too late — that maybe your moment has passed. But deep down, you know the opposite is true. You can feel it: this is your time. You’re more seasoned, wise, and grounded than ever. You’ve lived enough to have something truly worth saying.

You want your book to be more than just beautiful prose — you want it to serve as a transmission, a piece of living medicine. You want it to reach the people who are meant to find it — to land in the right hearts at the right moment, long after you’ve written the final word.

And beneath it all, there’s the desire for relief — the deep exhale that will come once it’s finally done. To be able to hold your book in your hands and say, “I did it. I told the truth of my life. I left something that matters.”

Love,
Tanya

From Tanya
(How I Can Help)

I’ve been helping my clients go from blocked writer to published author for the last 15 years. Before that, I worked with actors, writers, and musicians to create and perform one-person shows on stage. My entire professional life has been devoted to helping people write long-form personal narratives— and get them out into the world and the culture.

I would be blessed and honored to speak with you about how I can support you in finally moving through any kind of resistance, so you can live and embody your heart’s desire — to stand in your own soul-centered, ethical alignment as someone serving the Divine: visible, powerful, a true memory keeper, one who remembers our connection to the land, our bodies and our ancestors, both of milk and blood.

Most importantly, I know you are one who can make shared meaning, supporting others in this vast expanse of being human at this extraordinary moment in time — when new and ancient story threads are being woven, songlines and storylines being uncovered and re-discovered…songlines intersecting with storylines helping us connect and find one another again, all over the Earth.

You will help us become, once again, part of a new shared story, as history gives way to ourstory, and we re-spell and remake together a truer and more beautiful world on an abundantly regenerating Earth.

You who are a true awakener… standing in your brilliant, blinding light.

You are here to help others still struggling in the dark—to help them find their way, so that we can all shine.

This is the path of the relevant author.

This is the path of now.

With love, humility, and in your service,

Tanya

“Tanya Taylor Rubinstein is the Story Shaman. Let us not use this word lightly. What she does, better than anyone I’ve met, is weave your calling, God’s purpose, and the mundane trivialities of life into a vibrant tapestry, called Story. These stories heal, inspire and ignite in ways you never imagined. When you receive the call to be with her, listen.”
~ Susan C. Author
“Tanya has been the ancient midwife of my story. She cradled me, wept with me, sang me through my grief, coaxed my words, and gently guided me to the courage to birth my voice. She once said to me, “I can’t promise you safety here.” In its place, she supported me in the ultimate radical soul liberation – the telling of my story.”
