The Storyteller's Path:
Speak Your Book into Existence
There Is More Than One Way
to Bring a Book into the World
A six-month Speak Your Book writing and publishing program combining guided Story Conversations, somatic practice, and literary mentorship.
If your ideas emerge most clearly in conversation, if you think out loud, process verbally, or you’re neurodivergent and have always felt that traditional writing programs and processes were designed for a different kind of mind, you are not alone. Your creative process doesn’t begin with a blinking cursor. It begins with your voice.
Every Storyteller’s Path journey is grounded in our signature approach, where story, embodiment, literary craft, and leadership come together to support you in becoming the author you were always meant to be.
First of all, let me say that you are NOT a blocked writer. You are someone who leads as a storyteller, an oral processor and a lover of stories.
You may have spent your life being the most interesting person in the room. The quality of your attention, your creativity, your presence and the particular way you see and name and hold things, is rare.
People know it when they’re near you. It is why your work has reached the places it has reached. It’s why the collaborations you have been part of have mattered.
It’s why the people you have served remember you. Maybe they see you as their “secret weapon,” or maybe your name is on copyrights, songs, screenplays. Perhaps you have been in rooms most people can only dream of.
Even so, I’m guessing you do not have your own book yet.
Maybe you have the bones of one, or voice memos. Or perhaps you have given talks that people said should be a book, but it never ended up happening. Maybe you tried to get the help you needed to write it, but the process you were handed was built for a different kind of mind. The linear outline, the chapter-by-chapter architecture, the solitary discipline of pulling language out of silence: that is one way to write a book.
However, it is not your way.
Your way may be much more relational and verbally expressive. Your work is dynamic. Alive.
Whether you are in conversation, in performance, or in the room with another human being who is truly listening, you thrive. You are a verbal processor. You have probably always known this, even if no one ever gave it that name. You sometimes think out loud. You often discover what you know by saying it.
This is not a limitation. It is simply the instrument you were given, and it is a magnificent one. It just requires a different kind of process. (It’s also an Indigenous way of being. Once upon a time, our ancestors were all storytellers, long before they were all writers.)
Here’s what your process will look like:
- Unlock your Spirit of the Book with an Ancestral Constellation
- Help you define your one reader, your framework, your message and your living outline
- Be interviewed bi-weekly, speaking your story out loud with guidance
- Receive the transcripts and directives to write your chapter
- Have each chapter edited by your developmental editor
This hybrid process is completely unique to Somatic Author and was developed by me during 1:1 writer’s intensives over the course of two decades. This process allows you to speak your book aloud to finish your manuscript in 6-9 months. After that, it will be ready to go for traditional, independent or hybrid publication.
The somatic practice is woven through this work. The ancestral threads, the embodiment, the fierce care for the integrity of your story: these are the essence. And, in my experience, where the best books come from.
I think about what a book does for someone. The conversation changes. The collaborators who find you arrive already knowing something true about how you think. Invitations come from stages and rooms that were previously not available. The clients who reach out have already spent hours inside your written voice and arrive with a quality of trust that no amount of visibility can manufacture.
And then there is the thing that matters most. You stop carrying this as something unfinished. You put it down. It exists now. It is doing its work in the world and you are free, fully free, to be alive in whatever comes next.
If you feel something reading this, I would love to have a real conversation about your book, what it is, what it wants to become, and whether this path and this moment are the right fit.
Love,
Tanya
There Is More Than One Way to Bring a Book into the World
The Storyteller’s Path begins with presence. It begins with relationship. Together, we create the conditions for the book already alive within you to emerge, one conversation, one story, and one courageous act of truth-telling at a time.
With the help of our team, you’ll move through a literary process that honors the intelligence of your body as much as the craft of writing. Your stories, teachings, lived experience, and wisdom gradually take shape as a publication-ready manuscript.
A Story Mentor and Midwife for Your Journey
Your Story Mentor will help you midwife your book into being. She trusts your body’s intelligence and honors its rhythms. She is present and holds sacred space. She knows when to slow you down and when to invite you deeper into your body and the story you are telling.
Your Story Mentor is not simply an interviewer, or a traditional book “coach.” She is trained in the art of deep listening and creative excavation.
She listens for the stories beneath the stories and for the metaphors quietly weaving your life together. She can hear the places where your voice changes and for what lives in your body. She listens for what has not yet found words.
Many of the women and femmes who find us have spent decades holding profound space for others. They are often healers, therapists, founders, artists, coaches, teachers, spiritual leaders, and wisdom keepers. They have become the steady presence in the lives of countless people.
fully witnessed and understood without judgment.
“Working with Tanya offers far more than writing a memoir; it is a sacred journey of remembrance and reconnection: bringing together ancestral wisdom, deep healing, and a living dialogue with the land that continues to hold our stories.
Joining this program opened my heart to the joy of writing and reminded me that writing is not merely a craft but a sacred practice. As an Iranian immigrant, I carried many secret stories buried deep within me, memories and experiences that had long remained unspoken. This program became a sanctuary where those hidden truths could rise to the surface and find their voice. Each session opened a gateway into my inner landscape, guiding me to shape fragmented memories into a meaningful and coherent narrative.”
How the Book Takes Shape
The Storyteller’s Path is our most accelerated path to authorship, designed to guide you from the first conversation about your book to a publication-ready manuscript in approximately six months.
Not because we rush the creative process, but because speaking and writing are not the same creative act. This pathway honors the unique intelligence of the spoken word.
For women whose ideas emerge most naturally in conversation, a single Story Conversation can uncover the heart of a chapter that might otherwise take weeks to discover alone on the page. We move with the momentum that conversation makes possible while honoring the wisdom, depth, and integrity of your creative process.
Rather than facing a blank page, you’ll begin writing from language that has already emerged in your own authentic voice. Through professionally recorded and thoughtfully transcribed Story Conversations, you’ll receive the foundation from which each chapter is crafted.
Preparing Your Manuscript for Publication
Between Story Conversations, your Story Mentor remains close, giving you space to capture ideas as they arise, ask questions, leave voice notes, and stay connected to the living rhythm of your book. Inspiration rarely arrives on a schedule, and neither does the creative process. This ongoing relationship ensures that nothing important is lost between conversations.
As your chapters come together, so does your manuscript. Once your writing is complete, our in-house editorial team guides your work through both developmental editing and line editing, refining the structure, strengthening the language, and preserving the integrity of your voice every step of the way.
You leave The Storyteller’s Path: Speak Your Book Aloud with more than a finished draft. You leave with a professionally edited, publication-ready manuscript, prepared for the next stage of your publishing journey.
For many of our authors, that next step is continuing with Somatic Author Publishing. Others choose to publish in their own time. Either way, you leave with a manuscript that is ready to move confidently into the world.
Every book in The Storyteller’s Path: Speak Your Book Aloud begins the same way.
With a conversation.
If something in these words has stirred something in you…
If you’ve recognized yourself here…
We would love to hear about the book you’ve been carrying.
